Hello, my name is Danger

I've been prowling these forums for about a month now, but I never stopped to really introduce myself.

My name is Dane (nickname is Danger). I'm almost 26, have a bachelors degree in psychology, am a freelance writer and graphic designer, and live about an hour outside of DC. I enjoy listening to music, art, having debates (religion is my sweet spot), and portmanteaus.

Up until last year, I was straight. I wasn't closeted at all. I'd just never been interested in guys in a romantic way, but I guess I never entertained the idea or met one I could be interested in. Then last summer I met a guy with whom I became fast friends. He was married with a toddler and told me about how his marriage was basically over; he was looking to make new friends and jump-start his social life again. I told him about my ex: Several years ago she told me she was pregnant, I was one of three possible fathers, and that she was leaving me for one of the other guys. Needless to say, we were never at a loss for conversation.

We hung out more and more until one evening, on a whim I decided to kiss him. He kissed me back. In the month or so that followed, our relationship transitioned from friendship to romantic. We've been together ever since (for the most part) and love each other very, very much.

I don't like labels, but I guess technically I'm bisexual now. I'm also sarcastic, read about physics and biology in my spare time, am a terrible driver, and hate chocolate.

@happydavid, I have found that being legitimately straight and then one day developing romantic feelings for the same sex to be rare. A lot of people think I was just closeted my whole life. I try to explain to them that while I had no problem with people who were gay, I never felt like I could be with a guy. Then I met one that I could love. Funny how it happens. Nice to know it's worked out the same way for others.
