I'm on holiday (with Markie ) on the Isle of Wight from Saturday 6th to Saturday 13th September. I'm not sure it was a great idea to continue with this but we are so we'll make the best of it. We're seeing my mum, sister and sister's kids on the way back home on 13th, which will be good. I have got my laptop and mobile phone to talk to each other for internet access (not that easy as the Nokia software doesn't work properly on Vista), so as long as I can get a reasonable 3G signal I will probably be here for a while most evenings. However if I do disappear for the week then you know it's due to lack of signal or connection problems and nothing more serious.
Hmmm, not great so far. At least I have an internet connection (just about) so I can come here and use MSN.
Hope things are going okay Paul, and that you both manage to have a good time. We'll see you back her regular again real soon, have a great time and just chillax EC isn't the same without you, but i think we'll manage (*hug*)
I love the Isle of Wight. The Zoo there in Sandown has tigers! It's where I first fell in love with the species. Since then, I've seen the tiger cubs in San Fran.
We're going to Sandown tomorrow and haven't been to the zoo there yet (though we've been to the IOW a couple of times before). I'll try to persuade Markie to go (he's usually anti-zoos as he thinks they are cruel). This internet connection through Orange mobile is shyte!
Well, even if you are not enjoying it, you should be thankful that you have holiday!!!!!!!! I'm on summer break but I don't feel like so cuz I'm too damn busy:bang::bang: In fact, I'm going away for another 3 days:eusa_doh: Anyways, you have fun! Paul!!!(and Markie)
Paul, you're lucky you're on Orange. When I was in the IOW, it was the only network we could get at all where we were... a place called Ventnor. You know it?
Yep, I know Ventnor. It's on the side of a hill so can't even get TV from the huge megawatt mast in the middle of the island (which covers most of Hampshire), so has it's own little transmitter on the hill. So no surprises that you couldn't get much mobile reception there. The coverage map suggests we (in Seaview, a couple of miles south-east of Ryde) are getting Orange from Portsmouth. So it depends a lot on the weather. It connects through 3G for a few minutes then drops and takes several retries to make it connect again.
have funn! DONT TELL ME U LEFT MARTIN IN CHARGE!!! NNNNNNNNNNNNOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Well I'm back (I actually got back yesterday but there was and still is a lot to catch up with here). Martin's take-over plot doesn't seem to have materialised! The holiday was OK but not great. The weather was fairly miserable most of the week and we'd been to the IOW twice previously so there wasn't much new to see or the weather to do so. So we spent quite a lot of time in the chalet doing our own things. It was a break though, and a week away from work etc.
