Hello EC, The title isn't 100% accurate as I have occasionally lurked the forums of this fine site before. But it is only tonight I figured I would make an account since I just started University a little while back and may need some advice about dealing with issues in the future. A bit of background about myself, I came out to my parents at the start of summer (they didn't take it terribly well being that the family is conservative Catholics, now we just kind of never talk about the subject) and I just recently started university where I study the incredibly interesting topic of Economics and Finance. I do not personally know a single non-heterosexual individual and I have never had any relationship experience, no dating or anything at all really. I figured university would be a good place to meet people though and confirm that other gay guys do in fact exist outside of the internet. So with that being said I have resolved to try and be more sociable (I'm normally rather introverted) so that I can take advantage of the opportunities at university. Figure the people on this site could probably be of help so I just thought I would introduce myself, so Hello!
Well, I guess you're in the right place . I'm new too and I def feel you with being a freshman ; not knowing any non heterosexual guys etc.
Haha, I was surprised it wasn't taken when I registered. I am a big fan of western movies so figured I would go with a western alias.
Hi there and welcome to EC. I just love your username too, I just love the song. I am sure you will find this site very informative and supportive as well.
Welcome to EC. Well done on coming out to your parents. I'm sure it wasn't (still isn't) easy for you and it must have taken some courage to go through with it. Many universities have LGBT groups, so you should have the opportunity to meet like minded people there. If you're a little introverted it might take a bit of extra effort to meet and mingle, but I'm sure you will not be the only one with these feelings. Now that you've joined EC make the most of your membership and lean on us if you need support. It's good to have you here with us.
