And hello! :icon_bigg Where to begin... Well as of this year, I've started coming to proper terms with my sexual orientation. Growing up in an eight person household, I'm somewhat of a master of repression, but it's come to a point in my life, where I want nothing more now than to be true to myself. I'm still in the closet, partly because I have things I want to work through first and partly because the thought of coming out to my family and friends is something I don't feel ready for. Frankly, it scares me, since I would be the only one in both circles and I can't imagine how or where to even begin... So anyway you could say I'm a work in progress. I'd been looking for a safe place where I could be a little more open with less worries. And that's how I wound up here at EC Cheers! WD.

Hi there and Welcome to EC fellow Aussie, It is always good to see more Aussies finding this wonderful site.. I can understand wanting to take your time in coming out, and taking time in figuring out your feelings and thoughts on this. It has taken me 2 and a half years from the time I began to question myself to now and I am not all out.. Only to a few people.. I am going to be the first one I know of in my extended family to come out, so I know how you feel.. My family is fairly supportive of LGBT rights however so i am hoping they will be supportive of me too. Maybe get their thoughts on LGBT rights.. You don't need to say you are that way inclined to you are ready, but sometimes getting their opinions on what they think will give you a good indication of how the will be when you do decide to come out to them. This is a very safe and very supportive place to be and I hope you do continue to post and just know that you aren't alone in this. We are all here for each other.

Everyone has their own needs, their own timetable, and their own style. Comparison is a thief of peace. You'll do what you want when you figure out what that is and when you're ready! Being 'out' is like sexuality...there's a workable scale as to how much or how little we all relate, and we can fall anywhere on that scale/spectrum!
