Hello everyone. I just wanted to introduce myself to see if anyone could probably guide me or be a good first friend to this forum I would like to be called Nick or Nicolas just to be comfortable. I am 14 and I come from a very transphobic and homophobic family I am a slowly transitioning ftm, but I still look like a female to everyone. My family refuses to believe I am a guy, especially my mom. My mom always takes control of my gender identify. Hopefully I can find people that can give me a guidance or advice. Its super hard doing this at a young age.
The good news, is that even as long as 4ish years will feel, it isn't forever. You will be able to choose to leave relatively soon (compared to the rest of your life). I know 4 years feels like FOREVER when you are in high school, but I promise it isn't as long as it feels like.
Hi there and Welcome to EC, I think this site is just the perfect site for you to be on.. We are all very supportive and friendly and if you have any questions or want any advice or support, don't hesitate to post.
Hey Nick! Sounds like you're going through a rough time- and you're right, it's horrible and really unfair that you have to go through this at an age, which let's face it- is hard enough already! Okay, bad news over. The good news is that this forum is full of great people with really helpful advice so I think you're in the right place! Have fun!
Hey Nick! I understand your situation, and I know it's really tough, but it will get better. I started questioning my gender around the age of 14, and never said a thing until I had moved out almost five years later. It's tough now, but you have to hang in there, because one day their opinions won't matter anymore. It's tough when your family doesn't support you, but maybe they will even warm up to the idea some day. My family wouldn't talk to me for quite a while, but now, a year after I came out, I am able to have a conversation with them, and even visit without too much trouble. I hope everything will work out for you. If you ever need someone to talk to, I'd be happy to lend an ear
