Hey everyone! I'm Brody. I'm 23 years old and I just finished my bachelor's degree in psychology. I'm gay and have been out since high school. Well, actually I was forced out by my brother, but was finally out and (quietly) proud by senior year. I'm on this forum because I still am working toward true self acceptance and I know my sexuality is a big part of that. I'm also looking for support when it comes to my family. My mother's family and one of my brothers still doesn't agree with my "choice" and feel that I'm rebelling against God. I guess I've never dealt with the anger and the hurt I feel because of their judgement. But my father's family and one of my brothers supports me, so I'm thankful for that. Hope I get to know you all!
Congrats on your degree! I hope that one day everyone in your family will come to accept you. Maybe you can study LGBT people and bring more light to the literature.
LGBT psychology is definitely an interesting topic I'd like to explore. I'm beginning to think that if I study everything in the field that interests me I may never stop.
Well I think that it is really great that you are so proud despite the people that are un-supportive.
Hello and welcome, Brody! Have an amazing time on here and I hope to see you around. Best wishes, Andrew
Yeah I figure if they can't accept me as I am than it says more about their own insecurities than anything else. ---------- Post added 6th Dec 2014 at 02:36 AM ---------- Thanks so much! :icon_bigg ---------- Post added 6th Dec 2014 at 02:37 AM ---------- Thanks, Andrew!
