    Yes, coming out to a friend first that you can trust and know will be accepting is the best was to go about it. As you come out to your friends, you will start feeling more comfortable and securer about yourself. Having the support of friends can definitely help you. That said, only come out though if you feel ready and comfortable with others knowing as well.
