    Hey everyone, this is my first forum thread, ever, in the history of my life.

    My name is Gabriel, I'm 22 and hail from Jersey City, NJ. I was raised in a VERY open minded home. My mother made it a point to make sure we (her children) understood that your life is what you make of it, and no one has any say in how you live it (Unless your deep into drugs or someother life threatening thing).

    I came out as Gay september 2014(!), my mothers reaction was "I don't care who you fuck." My little sister's reaction was "I TOLD YOU!"

    I could go on forever about me but I'd get bored typing it all up. lol So thanks for reading and I hope to get to know you all soon!

    There is hope, you read about it every day! Yeah our community has dark times, but in the end we will come out on top (sometimes on bottom, whichever you prefer lol) and annihilate any obstacles that dare stand in our way. (&&&)

    wow....! I've got to admit that I've never heard of that kind of a reaction from a mother! She must be some fantastic kind of a lady to care for her son so much that her reaction right off the bat is your life is yours and I love you you no matter who you are with! Give her a couple of extra hugs from us here at WC, because I promise you that very few of us got that kind of a reaction from our moms!!

    THANKS! Yeah I realize how lucky I am to have a mother that has that kind of reaction toward her first born son being Gay. I had brought it up to her 2 years back and she was confused at the time because I had "been" with a few girls.

    I just backed out of the convo and saved it for another day. It was hard to hide myself for 2 extra years not because my mother would be angry but because she would have to worry about the rest of the world (she's very protective of children).

    So when I came out and told her straight up that Im Gay, she again was taken back but her voice sounded like she was expecting it. It felt good to finally come out and say it. My father on the other hand, he's fine with it, but I can tell he's somewhat bothered by it. He's not in my life much now so it doesn't really get to me.

    Hello Gabe, welcome to EC. I can see from responses that you have a positive energy around you and that is great. And I like your mother already so tell her to joint also we can benefit from her wisdom. There are a lot of kids need the support of such parent in our community.
