Joining The Community

Hello Friends!

I am so excited to have come across this site for an online LGBTQ community! I guess you could say I am a bit of a late bloomer because I have actually never used forums before, and didn't come out until last year, but here it goes... I came out to myself last summer before my 24th birthday. It was something I had repressed for a long time, and was the root cause of struggles I had with depression growing up. It was an incredible moment because when I actually spoke the words out loud there was an instant weight that was lifted off my shoulders. It was at that moment I realized how important it was for me to embrace who I am, and I have done just that everyday since. I've only come out to certain close people in my life so far, but my intention is to live my life as honestly and true to myself as possible.

My hope for joining this website is that I will be able to connect with more members of this community. I am blessed with very supportive friends who I love, but who are also mostly straight friends. I would love the opportunity to connect with other queer individuals in order to fully explore who I am. Besides being gay I'm also: a self proclaimed music hipster who attends as many live music events as I can; a film and photography fanatic; and my sport of choice is basketball.
