I recently came out to friends, my class and my sister and my mother as trigender. Previously, I was 'officially' a cis man. I have often been bashed in my life for acting "queer" and "not tough", and often had remarks that I'm very feminine. For example, I have female friends who do my hair and jokingly call me their 'gay friend'.
So, I finally decided to look into myself who I am. 'Trigender' was the obvious answer. My friends and everyone mentioned above were accepting.
However, I was recently bashed for being transgen on an online community I've followed for a long time, called 'italki', a language learning site (I'm a major linguophile). I merely openly requested that I'd be allowed to choose gender identity other than m/f. Firstly, my thread was removed, but apparently other people got hold of it and were able to bash me as an unnatural scum.
There were great, supportive people also. But I could use some more support, that stung a bit :tears:
sorry if the thread is depressing

Im sorry that you have to go through it. And you made a great decision for choosing EC, you are safe here I assure that. People here are supportive and friendly. If you need someone to talk to, you can always count on me  Welcome to EC, my friend!

Unnatural scum? They don't know what they're talking about. Meanwhile, gay mallard ducks are engaging in necrophilia. That's the kind of natural stuff that goes in our world.

I'm sorry you encountered some jerks (*hug*) Unfortunately, there's going to be more of them.

At least you'll find EC, is a lot more supportive than that other online community, that you described

Exactly, Lawrence, they don't know what they're talking abot. And yes, I've surfed EC for some time and people seem really open and supportive :icon_bigg
BTW, I'm also totally a Metalhead, since like the age of two \m/

Golgari, thanks a lot, it means the world to be welcomed :')

Wow, I don't think I've been listening to Metal since I was 2! When I was young, well, by age 8 I listened to famous bands such as Iron Maiden and Slayer. I didn't get into more obscure stuff like Death Metal, until I was 15.

One of the first times I listened to Metal, I said it's like I went to Hell, because the music blew my mind. I got into trouble for saying "Hell" out of proper context LOL It was worth it! \m/

I surfed EC, for a long time before I joined. I've learned things here that I couldn't find in textbooks.

I'm a trans guy with an androgynous gender expression, so I somewhat understand the frustration you have with some macho stuff. I've lost count of the times people have insinuated that "guys MUST do this or that."

There's no need to apologise for the thread being depressing. I think it's good that we're aware many people are still ignorant and/or hateful about LGBT.

hehe, my parents played metal and classical rock all the time when I was small. I started with Maiden etc. and gradually fell completely in love with Dio. I barely slept the night he died. Other favorites include Edguy and Avantasia. Also, Babymetal makes me shake inside  One concert I've been to that's a tiny bit obscure is Jorn, a Norwegian guy who's totally fab and has a killer voice!

Wow, that's actually super rude. But listen, those people were looking at it in a bad way, and you DONT need that in your life! As long as your comfortable and happy and all those other amazing emotions, why can't we be? I mean, you've come this far, so don't let those dips get you down!

Anyways! Welcome and I hope you enjoy EC! Remember, if you ever need someone to talk to or anything, just come ask me or anyone else!
