Hi everyone. My name is Cindy and I have just recently come out to my kids (not my son). The older girls are ok with it. The youngest is realllly worried about the crap she is going to get at school if I come out to everyone. We live in a town of 650 and she is a senior this year, so I know this really worries her. I have not told the rest of my family and I have not talked to my son yet. But I think baby steps are ok. I don't want to rock any of their worlds.

Hey radgal and welcome to empty closets!

It's great to see that you understand that your coming out doesn't just impact your own life. Baby steps are great - not only does it make it easier on yourself, but also gives everyone around you time to adjust. Let your daughters get used to the idea, and consult them for advice as much as you can.

Hi radgal - welcome to EC!

As Dave said, baby steps are fine. In your situation I think this is the right way to handle it. The whole town doesn't need to know anyway - just those who are important to you.

Why haven't you told your son yet?

Hi Cindy:smilewave, glad you found EC.
I hope everything goes ok with your family and that your youngest doesn’t catch any troubles from the ignorant. I think it’s good that you take things slow so that your kid's worlds don't get completely up-rooted overnight.
    Good luck:thumbsup:

    Hello Cindy! Welcome to EC!

There's no rush ^^ everybody comes out at their own pace. However long it takes, or however many people find out, is completely up to you. The fact that your daughters took it so well should be a good sign for you ^^ that initial hurdle is a difficult one, but I'm sure things will be much easier for you now!

Hi Cindy. Welcome to EC. I'm glad you've come to accept who you really are. I'm a 'late bloomer' too and trying to find my way through. Good luck.
