Hi. I am a partly closeted, older muslim womyn and wanted to connect with others in a similar situation. I sometimes feel like I am the only one in my world (that is straight and very muslim). I made the choice to stay in this world as I need to be near my family, otherwise I feel quite lost. I did try living away from my family, and that did not work. So, I am just wondering if there are other older, muslim womyn who have made a similar choice and how do they deal with the loneliness ...
Hi Faazi. I've only been here since this morning, and already feeling very comfortable. Amazing place, EC....
Hi Faazi, and welcome. I just joined as well & everyone have been very nice here. I have made some choices based on my loyalties, and these choices have led to loneliness, so I can't really claim to have any cures at this point unfortunately. But I hope that you really enjoy your time here.
Hi Faazi, I'm in Africa too! I'm not a muslim lady, but I am a later-in-life lesbian. Finally figuring things out at 32. Feel free to post on my wall if you want to chat .
Hi Faazi, Im in a similar situation and it's been bothering me for a few years till i made peace with it and balancing my identity with my belief. Wish you well
Hi MsAnchor. I thought I was fine with it, but the loneliness makes it a new struggle all over a again every few years. Its getting more depressing as I get older.
