This is my first time posting here or anywhere like this. I have been out as a lesbian for over 20 years and am now trying to come out as transgender. I am afraid to tell my wife or even my therapist. I am the non birth parent of two, soon to be three kids and am finally trying to be completely true and honest with myself and the world. Wow and I thought coming out as lesbian was scary!

Welcome to EC! I believe you can do it! Me and many others here will be there for you every step of the way. Tell them when you feel most ready. And remember that when it comes to unconditional love for a partner, being transgender won't change that love. Especially not with me, at least! If I were to meet a girl and fell in love with her or a boy, and they confessed to me one day that they were transgender and weren't a girl/boy to begin with, I'd be very happy they told me and wouldn't love them any less! I hope at least when you tell her that she'll be accepting of it. (&&&)

You now have a whole community rooting for you! And i for one as well as many others will be there to support you no matter what. I'm new here too and although I don't come here with the same struggles I still understand. And like mentioned in prior responses only tell people when you are ready. Good luck on your journey!
