Ok, so I don't know any people my age that are gay IRL, so I want to meet some on a forum like this. What would be the best way to do this?

The best way to meet people on forums like this is to post in the forum. Fun and games is a great place to meet people as is the chat room once you get promoted. Hi and welcome to EC from Jim in Toronto! You're unlikely to meet people IRL unless you're willing to come out. That way you can attend LGBT groups and stuff and meet other young people who are in the same boat. Otherwise, you're sneaking around and perhaps exposing yourself to people who aren't being completely honest about who they are or how old they are. EC is NOT a place to meet other people in person. It's a place to open up about the stuff that's bothering you and to get and give advice to other people that are in the same situation as you are. But you are NOT to make your own personal contact information known here - for your own good - because this site is meant to be safe for online interactions for young people your age.
