I decided to join this forum because I have spent a long, long time questioning my sexuality, and very soon I want to be able to be open about how I feel, especially to my parents. As of right now, the plan is to tell them on October 11th. That's drawing ever-closer. They are Christian, but I know they are accepting of gay people, so I think the worst reaction I could get is dismissal of my sexuality, and general disbelief. I can see that happening, but I'm safe and I feel ready (but scared!). So far, I'm out to my brother and a friend who is transgender and pansexual. My brother was very taken aback, but we had a good long conversation about different sexualities and crushes (because I was painfully crushing on a straight female friend). It felt amazing. Before I even told him what I felt, I first opened up to my friend from middle school who helped me feel valid. It turns out he had a lot of the same thoughts I have!
I hope you find what you're looking for on here, make sure to check out the Coming out advice forum for a couple of tips or if you have any questions. I'm also always here if you need anything! Good luck!
