Hi everyone, I've been lurking around these forums for a while now, but never felt like posting before today. I'm a 16 year old male from SE Michigan and the LGBT community in my area is pretty bleak (it mainly consists of myself and my lesbian friend group). Anyways, I became interested in this community seeing as I find it hard to relate to the few LGBT people I know, as nobody in my friend groups feel quite as ostracized as myself. I'm out to those who ask and the majority of my friends, but not family. (My father is a republican and possibly a Trump sympathizer). If anyone wants to talk, I'm sure i'll be active around here soon enough, and am always looking to make new friends.
Hey and welcome to EC. I'm from NW Michigan, myself, and it's pretty bleak up here for LGBT people, so I know what that's like. That's why I'm here, and it's worked out well so far, so I'm sure you'll do fine here; you sound a lot more sociable than me.
Hello to Scott! As you've been here for a while, a welcome seems a bit...what's the word I'm looking for? Overdue? Sure, why not. So, Welcome! We're glad you're here and posting with us! Please, invite your friends to join as well! We'd love to meet them! This is the perfect place to network with LGBT people, as I'm sure you know! (*hug*) Good to meet you! Don't worry, the rancor can't hurt you if it doesn't smell you! QUICK JUMP IN THE RANCOR POOP.
Hi and welcome, it's nice to meet you!! Although the place where I live (Bergen, Norway) is generally very supportive of LGBT+ people, I've only recently started making friends in that community. So while I've never struggled to be accepted for who I am, I can sympathize with the feeling of lacking someone in your life that you can relate to - someone who understands you. It really sucks :// I hope you're able to make lots of friends here!! It's not quite the same, but it definitely counts for something
