Hello, everyone! My (user)name is Dorothy, and it's very nice to meet you all! I'm a retro gamer, obscure/old anime fan, and VERY fabulously fey. Too gay to function, indeed. <3 My favorite consoles are the Dreamcast and SNES, btw, and my favorite anime is Serial Experiments Lain. My name and avatar are from the recently released game Va-11 Hall-A (pronounced Valhalla), a cyberpunk visual novel based on the PC-98. Yep. VERY much into that retro tech look. Plus, Dorothy herself is a major QT3.14 if I do say so myself. Anyway, that's my intro! I'm sure I'll have a good time here. Sending good vibes~ <3
welcome! I'm brand new too and I actually have a dreamcast! My favorite games are Rayman 2, Jedi Power Battles, and Echo the Dolphin. How about you?
NICE Lain avatar, friend! I'm getting things set up with my newly-bought second DC...! It's a blast! My favorite games growing up were Skies of Arcadia, Phantasy Star Online, Grandia II, Shenmue (especially Space Harrier on there ) and Mobile Suit Gundam: Federation vs. Zeon! The last one is a Japan exclusive, but back in the day, my older brother burned some games onto blank CDs and those copies aren't region locked or anything. If you have the means, I highly recommend doing so! Right now, I'm building a whole new collection (since this is my own Dreamcast, as opposed to a model we grew up with), and I've been grinding offline on PSO ver. 2 whenever school lets up. When I get the time, I want to use a Raspberry Pi to get the DC online, if I can. It's quite fascinating! I've also picked up a copy of Grandia II and just repaired a scratched copy of Shenmue I got off of Amazon. It's been quite the adventure!
dang! all I can find are sports games (virtua tennis is fun though). I've seen gameplay of shenmue it definitely looks unique.
It's wonderful! I still get chills every time I see the announcement trailer for Shenmue III...when I was growing up, EVERYONE, from the gaming press to the average Joe or Jane, thought that it would absolutely NEVER happen. Is it dorky to say that it made me cry? Because if it is, then I am a MAJOR dweebasaurus. Plus, since the designer of Shenmue, Yu Suzuki, was also a key developer of arcade games for SEGA, his game Space Harrier was included as a minigame within Shenmue. So through the Dreamcast, I was introduced to so many of my all time favorite games...I'd love to teach you some classics through private messaging! I know a ton about SEGA, and I even carry a Dreamcast-shaped bag with me to class. <3 Just drop me an e-mail and I'll be sure to get back to you! Again, I'd love to be able to teach you how to burn games--it can be a great option for the more popular or rare games that you can't afford. So please feel free to send me a PM--I love teaching people what I know!
I see you have a Chrom profile picture...I'm rather fond of his daughter, myself... <3 Beautiful princely royal wife...<3 It's nice to meet you, too! Want to chat with me about retro systems and set-ups sometime?
