Hi everyone! I'm just another noob here to say hello! :smilewave I'm a lesbian, but I've come to realize my sexual orientation a bit later in life than some people. I'm in my mid to late twenties, so I'm still learning the ropes haha. I'm only out to my best friend and my mom, both have been supportive although sometimes it's still a struggle. I'm generally pretty positive though, so that helps I live in a small town that has little to no LGBTQ+ representation, so it gets kind of lonely. I joined Empty Closets to seek a community in which I can feel safe and belong to, as well as meet some friends along the way! I'm all about respecting others and trying to create a positive environment, and I'm a soon-to-be high school teacher. It scares me a bit to be a queer teacher, as there is still some discrimination that happens with sexual orientation in schools. But I'm hoping to be an advocate for LGBTQ+ students, and I hope to meet some amazing queer teachers along the way who can share in my experiences. So I just want to say to whomever is reading this that you are beautiful, you are inspiring, you are loved, and you are strong. :eusa_clap And of course...hello to all you lovely individuals out there! (!)
Welcome to EC~ I agree with what Embi said, you're gonna help a lot of queer students so it's a good thing ^^ despite the discrimination It's nice to meet you~
Hello! I'm coming out late too.. You'll be able to help a lot of students. Good luck to you in your teaching. It's a hard job. I'm only out to two friends and my husband. I'm bisexual
Thank you everyone! It's nice to meet you guys, and I hope to see you all around on EC! :newcolor::thewave:
