Hi, I'm a closeted gay from the UK. Despite living in an open-minded part of the country, I'm still unsure about being open to others which is driving me to depression. This site was recommended to me by a friend, and I hope to talk to someone here who is as understanding. This site has already helped me a lot to accept myself, and I'm immensely grateful for it. Thank you.
Hi RedTrekkie95! Welcome to EC! Being in the closet certainly can present challenges, but the most important things is that you understand and accept your own sexuality. Overcoming self-doubt and dealing with any internalized homophobia can really help you to feel much more confident about who you are. Then, it is much easier to just be the real you when dealing with other people.
Thanks for the warm welcome. It's so comforting to know that there are people out there who are supportive. Thank you very much.
