    Hey EC,
    Although I've already made a post in my coming out stories, I thought it to be only fitting that I introduce myself. My name is Glen, and I've been struggling with my sexuality since 13 or so. It's been difficult since I live in a Mormon community.
    I met my best friend during 8th grade, and during scout camp we really bonded by talking about pornography use and the sort. We decided to become more pure Mormons.
    That flowed until my sophomore year of high school, when I began to really crack and feel that it was impossible to stop the raging hormones. So, I looked up some anti-Mormon literature, and finally left the church in February 2008. Things got really rough at home and with my best friend, and I became very depressed throughout the rest of the year. Things finally cleared up when I began this journey of being ok with my sexuality, and now both of us are out of the closet to each other.

    I have bouts of loneliness and feelings of insignificance frequently, and it's getting quite hard to deal throughout the summer. I'm glad that this forum is here, and I hope I can become good friends with many of you.

    Welcome to EC! I'm a PFLAG leader. Last year we invited a group called Affirmations to speak to our group. They are gay Mormons. It was really interesting hearing how the Mormons respond to homosexuality.

    I'm sure that talking with the Mormon community was definitely an interesting experience, becky. I was unaware that such a community even existed.

    Well done for overcoming that large bout of depression last year, I'm sure it's made you stronger. And it's great that you've got a best friend and someone you can really relate you, I'm sure you give each lots of support. Hopefully EC can give you some time out from your loneliness and make you feel better :slight_smile:

    Yeah, its called Affirmation. http://www.affirmation.org/ What is nice about them is they accept you whether you chose to leave the Mormon faith or you still have ties to it. Check it out! :slight_smile:

    ¡Qué interesante! We one-n Glens are kinda rare, from my understanding. My family doctor of all my life still uses 2 n's when filling out prescriptions.
