Hi Everyone, My name is Erica Ann and I'm new to the forums here. Just a little background on myself. I am a full transitioned MTF transsexual now living my life full time, 24/7, for the past 2 years as the real person I've always been in my heart and soul. I had my GRS 11 months ago. I'm also very fortunate that my spouse, who I have been married to for the past 33 years has fully accepted me in her life. We also have 2 sons, ages 27 and 23 who have accepted the fact that their father is a woman. So far, so good. I came here looking for some information that I could share with my extended family, mother-in-law, mother, father, brother and numerous brother-in-laws and sister-in-laws that would somehow help them to understand me and to maybe achieve some level of acceptance of me. I haven't been able to speak to my immediate extended family in 3 years now. Ever since I came out and shared my "life's little secret" with them. If anyone could share with me any information that might be of help in this area, I would be eternally grateful. In the mean time, thank you for allowing me to join in your web site and if can be assistance to anyone that may be in the process of transitioning, please feel free to contact me.
Hey!! Welcome! I hope you stay around, there are a few transgendered people here but not many who have had GRS. It's wonderful that your sons and wife have accepted you, though I'm sorry to hear about the rest of your family. Three years is a long time so hopefully they will feel more ready to try to get a good relationship back. Family usually tend to come around in the end because they will still love you. I'm sure if you think about new methods to contact them, even if it is on formal terms, they will let you ease your way back into their lives. Anyway, welcome to the site, Erica
Hello and welcome to EC Erica :smilewave I've got to hand it to you; you've got some major courage. Congrats on fully transitioning and having a wonderfully accepting partner and children.
Hi Black Cat, I have been told this same thing by a number of people, but I have to be honest...there wasn't much courage involved with what I did, just an overwhelming desire to finally be myself. And thank you to both you and Invisable for the warm welcome to the site. I really appreciate it! :icon_bigg
