Hey everyone! My name is Chaz. I only recently found EC, but since then I've been greatly appreciating all the helpful information it has to offer. So, thank you. I'm originally from Montana, but now go to school out in New York. I'm studying chemical engineering and am looking at studying abroad next year for the fall. I like reading (fiction of various sorts), getting to be outdoors (I really love the space and the feeling of being out of a city), and growing plants (tropicals, orchids, and carnivorous ones). I have only recently started the process of coming out. Two weeks ago I told my fraternity brothers, yesterday I let my best friend from back home know, and next up I'm aiming for my sister. I'm still nervous and uncertain about letting everyone know that I'm gay, so I haven't found my way to my colleges LGBT club yet, but I hope I can pick the courage up eventually.
Hi Chaz and welcome to EC! Glad that EC is helping you! The more you come out and let other know, the more comfortable you will become. I hope that your coming outs thus far were good and that your peers and friends are supportive. It took me a long time to go into a LGBT office. But you will see that it will happen eventually and will walk into the LGBT club.
Hi Chaz and welcome to EC. Congratulations on coming out to some to some people already. It's not an easy thing to do.
Welcome, Chaz, to EC, it's great that just reading around has helped you Congratulations for coming out to those close people, it's certainly not easy. See you around.
I couldn't agree more mirko. From the two times that I have been able to let others know, afterwords I've noticed a significant change in my confidence and sense of ease. It's a wonderful feeling and I can't wait to find out what it will be like when everybody I want to know knows.
