I'm Here

Hi.

I’ve been registered here for a few days, but I’ve been following the site for a couple weeks and I’ve liked what I’ve seen. Here’s my first post.

Here’s a short biography: I’m seventeen, and I live on a ranch outside a small rural town. I’m very academic, and I love social studies. I’m very (some would say obsessively) political, and I identify as a populist progressive. I do not like and have no talent for sports. For extracurriculars I do speech and drama and academic competitions, and I do very well in those. I’m at the top of my high school class. I'm gay and out to eight people (and hopefully counting), including my parents and younger brother but not my little sister. And I'm very social around close friends but very shy around strangers.

Why am I here? I like the warm environment, I have questions, I have stories, I have opinions, I have several things I might be able to contribute. We’ll see how this goes.
