Hello! I just discovered this site a couple of months ago, and have found it very helpful just to read some of the stuff here on the forums (I especially enjoy the thread about funny coming out stories!), and finally decided to register so I can start participating. I'm 14 years old and, if you couldn't tell from my username, am a pianist. Not just a hobbyist; it's the main obsession of my life (I often spend several hours a day practicing!). My favorite music is classical music. Well, actually it's pretty much the only stuff I listen to and play. My favorite composers are Bach, Beethoven, Chopin, Liszt, Alkan, and Rachmaninoff. I listen to a little "mainstream" music too, most of it comedy. My favorite musical comedians are Tom Lehrer, Weird Al, Tim Minchin, and Bo Burnham. And I love George Carlin, even though he wasn't a musician. I don't really enjoy sports. I have fun playing basketball occasionally, but overall I don't really do so much in the way of "athletic activity", so to speak. Unless you count Chopin etudes! Hey PianoMan! Welcome to EC! I, myself, am new here to. But so far I have discovered a great community which I hope you will find too. Be comfy and be who you are here. If you ever need anything, throw me a pm; not sure how much help I'll be but better to extend a hand then no hand at all. As for music, I have the utmost respect for the classics but I do not find enjoyment in listening to them. I prefer classic rock from the 60ies to 90ies and everyonce and awhile I'll hear something I like now-a-days. I also love country, jazz, and Christrian music in general. I play the sax myself but unfortunately sports gets in the way of that. Still I have utter respect for the musicians in our society and I tip my hat to you! Once again Welcome!
It always impresses me when people can play an instrument and feel such passion for it. Specially the violin and the piano. Beautiful instruments. Welcome to EC!
