Me and my boyfriend have been together for 2 years now and we are very very happy. Both of our families are very conservative christians and hate the gay culture, so we haven't told them yet, but all of our friends know and they have accepted us for who we are, which i am very happy about. I am so glad to have this find this site, and can't wait to talk to everyone!!!!
Woot! Another floridian! haha Welcome to EC! Awesome to hear that your friends are supportive and I'm sure your parents will come around eventually
WELCOME Now go get your boyfriend on here too. Hahahahaa Just start postin in the support and advice, us EC'ers are good at helping with family drama.
Welcome to EC! It's always a challenge when one's parents are religious and/or conservative. But in the majority of cases, once they get over the initial discomfort/anger/frustration, parents decide that continuing to love and support their children is much more important than following their religious doctrine. It's great that you've joined our community. I hope that as you poke around and read some of the coming out stories, you'll find more confidence and support with the idea that your parents can be OK with the fact that you're in a relationship with someone you love and care about.
Thank You everybody for the welcomes and yes ill be getting my boyfriend on here as soon as possible, and thank you.
Good luck to both of you. Do remember for your family that gay culture is something alien, it hasn't come across their minds for most of them that one of their closest is part of it. Some of the regulars here are really good, if you do decide to come out to your family, they'll be there to give you advice. Me too if I'm here at the time. Enjoy it here!
