Hi everyone, I just discovered this site from a link someone provided on Facebook. I have never visited a site like this and I'm so glad that I did. I'm gay and older (I'm 38), and I wish I had had a place like this to come to for support when I was coming out. I have spent the past day reading a lot of the posts on here, and many have brought me to tears. I love the honestly on here and how everyone is so supportive. Reading some of the stories on here have inspired me to make changes in my life and for that I thank you. I grew up in rural Mississippi which was very homophobic to say the least (especially when I was growing up),but I have lived in Atlanta for many years which has a large and welcoming gay community. Reflecting on my own experiences when I was in high school and college, I'm amazed at the openness of kids today at this age. Things are definitely getting better !(!) Sorry to keep rambling. I just wanted say 'thanks' to good folks that run this site and I look forward to conversing with many of you in the months to come.
This truly is a remarkable place on the internet. It has certainly helped me in my journey in the last few years, and I'm glad it's here to support others.
I'm still new here myself, but it seems like a pretty nice place so far. I hope we both like it here. ^^
Hi Ethan and welcome to EC I'm glad you found the site and decided to join Take care and see you around, Cécile
