    Hey im chris and im pretty much new to this site. i joined because i hate being alone with the fact that im gay and i havent come out to anyone, i guess its hard because i dont believe that my family would be very accepting. i suffer from social anxiety so i find it very difficult to get out of the house and make some friends, i suppose it would be easier to have a friend to come out to rather than a member of my family. another reason i joined was to make some friends, i know it only online but its better than having no friends at all.

    Guess what? You just came out to everyone here on EC. And the thing is, we're all still strangers to you. That took quite some courage on your part. Coming out does not have to be something you're afraid of doing, it doesn't have to be something you have to do right this very minute. You set the particulars of your own Coming out. When, where and whoever you tell is your decision.
    If you're having difficulty with something, or just need some advice, don't hesitate to ask.

    I agree joining the site and posting is a scary thing when you don't know what to expect! But you'll be happy to know that everyone, or at least that I've spoken to are friendly!

    Sorry to hear about your situation. Everyone here is very friendly and supportive.

    As AM said, you set the terms of your coming out process: you decide where, when and how you're going to do it. Look in the support forums if you need help or advice, or you're always welcome to talk to me.

    And like someone (I think more said it, too) said, you just came out to everyone on here. Complete strangers...congrats :eusa_clap .

    I haven't been here for a week yet, but it seems like a great place to be! I really hope you enjoy being on here and "find the courage" to come out to people you know in real life. And about the family thing...well we're here as support. At least that's how it seems so far.

    hi chrisj!im new to this site also.im looking tomake friends with a few people on ec.i told my mom that i was a lesbian but it still didnt fit.i mean it made me feel better but something still didnt fit.i waitwd and thought and figured out that i was a boy in a girls body......whats your story?
