Hi, I'm Farouche and I identify as genderless. I tried introducing myself like that in real life (with my real life name) and all I got in return was, "Huh?" I'm not sure whether the term agender is any better known, but I'm guessing it would get about the same reaction. My favourite pronoun for myself is "it." Is there anyone else out there who feels the same? I know it sounds insulting to most people, but being called "it" just makes me happy.
Welcome to the forum, Farouche! How do you pronounce your name? I can't help thinking of it with a French pronunciation. Anyway, I think if I was in your situation I'd tell people I'm agender, and then I would explain what that means. Genderless might sound stranger to most people. Although you shouldn't really worry about it since either way it's not going to sound familiar to the majority. And it's not like you have to tell them your gender unless it somehow comes up .
