Well, this is something I never thought I'd see myself doing! I've been a long time reader of EC for about 2 years, a site I was referenced to through trying to find support for my eventual coming out. And it has been one amazing resource! My name is Chris. I'm a 20 year old and a sophomore working towards my BSED in Secondary English. I live at home (as campus is only a short drive from home) because I'd rather not spend close to 9k a year on housing. I enjoy reading and writing (which should be obvious by my chosen career path ). I'm a once-hardcore video gamer, although school has since made that hobby disappear (but I still get a few hours in a week - mostly in Minecraft). I enjoy photography, and I'm trying to teach myself how to cook so I don't have to rely on fast-food, frozen meals, or mom and dad! I am out to my parents (only did so about 2 months ago), my sister, and a few of my close friends that I've gotten to know from work (in retail! D and so far everyone has been really accepting! So that's me! I just thought I'd finally register here and try to be of some help for others that need it! -Chris
Welcome to EC. I was happy to read that your family and friends are so accepting. That's always a great feeling. I totally hear you on giving up hobbies for school. I have had to give up music and gardening in order to finish my last semester.
