I'm Drake, but you can refer to me as Drake, Drakey, Drakers, anything really x3 I'm eighteen and gay and living in the state of Colorado Hmm...some stuff about me... Well I've had about two or three boyfriends, but in reality I expect to end up alone forever. I've been told that I don't seem "gay" and don't act "gay" and have even had a girl say to me "you're not gay, you don't act gay!". I would love to act and look "gayer" but I can't really help looking/acting straight, which may be a reason I'm single D: I have a really low self esteem, I really hate myself and the way I look, so I can be self deprecating at times, so if you see me being low self esteem, feel free to say "shut up and love yourself!" Well that's all I have for now, glad I found this site xD
Hi, and welcome! One of the most common misconceptions about people just coming out is the idea that they have to conform to some stereotype about what they like, how they dress, how they act, etc. And the truth is, while a portion of gay men do conform to those stereotypes, there are many more than don't... but straight people might never know, because, since these gay folks *don't* conform to stereotypes, they don't stick out. So don't worry about being someone you're not. Don't worry about "acting" a certain way, or developing a love for Lady Gaga or Madonna or fashion design. Just be you. Being gay is about who you love, not what you are interested in!
Hi, Drake, and :welcome: to EC! Nice to have you here! You know, if you expect that you'll end up alone forever, chances are you really will, because this will become a self-fulfilling prophecy. It's disheartening to go into a relationship expecting it to last, but to end up alone, but it's also disheartening to go into a relationship expecting it not to last, and end up confirming your expectations when it does end. Try not to have expectations either way--just go with the flow.
