Hi I am new here. The names Rae. I am from the midwest and I have known my gayness for quite sometime now. Seeing that I live in the midwest there really isn't much of a gay scene there. I am hoping to meet some new friends who can relate to what I am going through. I am quite the nerd. I love sci fi and fiction. I am a huge LOTR geek. And I huge Xena warrior princess fan girl. I am also a huge music snob. I have been classically trained in voice for 4 years and 2.5 in piano. So nerds Hit me Up :starwars:
Welcome You're definately in the right place if you want to meet people who you can relate with. Hope you like it here!
Hi and welcome, I got a feeling we'll be talking quite a bit. I've read TLOTR probably like 7 times already, still can't get enough though. As for sci-fi, well I ain't a huge fan of Star Wars, I think it's ok but not really my cup of tea, now star trek is a different matter all together. That being said, I love reading sci-fi novels, they are sooo much better than movies. Specially Ann McCaffery's Pern series, and her Brain & Brawn series. Inception was a wonderful book (no I'm not talking about the movie with Leonardo Dicaprio), but a book written by an auther, (I just can't seem to remember his names, I think it was Ian Banks of some sorts.) (If you want I can tell you more, but very short, it's about a super liner ship that stretches over 200km in length and a few kilometers in width who became eccentric, but turned out to save the universe.) Don't know if you've read the new Heroes of Olympus series, but I think they are supper cool. Any way, look me up if you want to talk. Really I can be anything LOLs
Welcome to EC. I like all those things you mentioned, and so I'm going to suggest that you look up and watch the Doctor Who 2005 series. And if you have yet to see Brave, you should see that too. ^^
I Saw brave and I absolutely adored the movie! It is so great to finally have my own Disney princess that I can relate to, And it also helps that she is a ginger like me too I know the fandom is kinda of in an uproar about the idea of her being gay, but I think there is nothing wrong with thinking like that.(spoilers) They did leave it open to interpretation. I think not giving her a love interest was a great move by Pixar and I do believe it was intentional. So whether she is gay, bi, asexual, or just wants her freedom her story is one that many people can relate with.
It's nice to see that they've finally wrapped their heads around the concept of a female protagonist whose life doesn't revolve around romance. Not that love isn't a wonderful thing, but it's only a tiny part of a much larger picture. ^^
Xena ftw although I hate gabriella omfg cant stand her she is so weak lol. and her daughter is the spawn of saitan xena whopped her butt though lol
Aw man don 't dis teh gabs. She has sexy abs of steal. I love them both although I know it was xena that captured my little baby dyke heart all those years ago.
