Welcome Robin. I read your story, congrats on your mom being so supportive, that's great! I really hope your dad, brother, and friends can open up their mind a bit and be accepting. (*hug*) Sometimes people can say many anti-gay things and seem pretty homophobic, but when it comes down to being someone that they love and care for, it can change how they feel over time. Welcome How did your mom find out about this website? How did going out to her go? Why did you choose to come out to your mom first?
Well, my mom found out about this website after I told her I was gay, and then she did some research on the matter. (Probably to help her accept all of this.). Coming out to her went really well, and I came out to my mom first, because I knew that I had the best relationship with her. (Although I still had my car keys and wallet in my pockets as well as my shoes on in case I had to make a quick escape from my house after telling her.)
lol, you know I also told my mom first, but my dad was there, so it was kinda both at the same time, had my train ticket back, just in case and a friend where I could sleep over. But they were fully accepting as well. My dad just had lots of weird awkward questions and stuff. But I think he handled it well.
