Hey. I'm new here, just checking it out. I do need a safe place to vent and all that. Anyways, I was wondering if there is anything like this for people who are over 18? Haha-as I type that I realize it sounds like I'm looking for some 'adult action'. Not at all. I've just been lurking here a lot lately and realizing that the issues I'm facing now are ones that most people are facing in their teens. I, on the other hand, am almost done university. Maybe I'm in the wrong place? Is there a site like EC who are dealing with coming out in their 20s?
Welcome to EC. You found the place. There are a lot of great people on this site. Many of us are over 18 and working through these same types of issues.
If you're going through a lot of the same issues, then you'll probably want to be here. I think there's a lot of university-aged people here, from what I can tell.
Hey, welcome to EC! You're definitely in the right place! I thought the same thing when I first joined since it's described as a safe place for teens to chat, but there are plenty of people of all ages here from 14 to 114 :icon_bigg
I'm uni aged too, and I'm going through issues. Mine aren't regarding my sexuality, but that doesn't make me feel less silly when I tell people. Trust me, there's people older than you with issues here. There is a site for over-18s, it's the one that funds and supports this one: It's called ###. It sticks porn everywhere, but it's good. Still, most of those people are waaaay over 18. Here, we're all just around that sorta age, and nobody is going to judge you. For a while, I felt too old, and then I spotted a member in his sixties.
Just look at the ages of the people who have posted in this thread so far. 19, 17, 16, 33, 43, 25 and 19. I think at 21 you'll fit in nicely here. Most of the time I just don't notice people's ages here at all. It's usually not relevant and rarely shows in their posts. When it is relevant it's more from a practical point of view (whether or not a person is dependant on their parents or whether they are of legal age etc) rather than having much impact on what they are going through.
Welcome to EC. I'm certainly not one of the younger ones but as Paul says, it's never been an issue. We're all here to help.
