Well, everyone, wish me luck! On Sat morning, I have an interview with a criminal lawyer here in town for a possible part-time position in her office!!! I got called on Thursday nite while preparing some court documents for an assignment in one of my classes & she expressed her interest in meeting with me to discuss workin for her. Naturally, being trans, I was concerned that, since Im now full time as myself, that I wouldnt be able to dress normally as myself at work. So I asked about office attire, & when I was told it was laid back & mostly jeans & tshirts, I explained that the reason I asked was that I am transgender & transitioning from one gender to the other. After the quick smile I got when I was asked from which to which, I explained a bit & the lawyer, she responded by telling me it wouldnt even be a problem or an issue for me to come into the office as myself!!! I am so super psyched about this opportunity, as Im hoping this will lead to an internship next semester, which is what Im trying to set up right now!!! And this is even more awesome because criminal law is the area I want to focus on!!! Anyway, wish me luck everyone!!! (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!) (!)
Just finished the interview, it went well I thought! It isn't a definite position yet, but I'm hopeful to get a callback for an internship next semester!
Good luck on the callback for the internship. I hope it goes well for you. It sounds like, aside from being something you really want to pursue career wise, an excellent working environment as well. Best wishes on it
