Hello everyone, I'm 43 and while I've had fleeting thoughts about being a lesbian, like once every few years, I've decided that this is who I am and I have never felt better about me...except I'm not out and don't foresee coming out any time soon...because...I'm married. The marriage has been over for a couple of years but I just asked for a divorce a week or so ago. More on that relationship another time. I've met a wonderful woman and she's encouraged me to do some reading and "studying" and I have. Many of the books I've read have commented about online support groups so that's what led me here. I look forward to meeting new folks and hopefully making new friends.
Thanks everyone for the kind welcome. Does anyone have any recommended readings? I've read Awakenings, Late bloomers and a couple of others. Those two were by far the best so far. Just started Outing Yourself.
Hi Lighthouse....I was late coming out myself, though for different reasons. Glad you found this great group. Wish I'd found it when I was about to come out myself! What books have you read so far? And hope this site is of great help to you (*hug*)
I've read Awakening, Dear John I Love Jane, and Latebloomers were all great and very helpful to my figuring all this out. I'm reading Outing Yourself now.
This is a great book. Still reading it. But it's full of stories by different women who are gay, bi and bi-curious. From relationship stories to coming out stories. Same Sex In The City
welcome There a quite a few people on here who are in the process of or have already come out to spouses. I'm sure you will be able to find support here ---------- Post added 12th Nov 2012 at 06:14 PM ---------- definitely going to have to check out the kindle edition of this
Hi and welcome to EC!!! I didn't consider myself a late bloomer until I got on this site and found young, young ones coming out. Then, I felt like a late bloomer. I just recently came out to myself (2 months ago) and my therapist (1 month ago) and joined this site about 2 1/2 weeks ago. I'm loving it here!! I'm definitley going to check out some of the books yall have mentioned, as soon as I get my Kindle back from my sister. She had shoulder surgery and was stuck at home for a long while, so I loaned it to her. I didn't realize how much I missed it until I didn't have it here!
Hello and welcome! Glad you found this site, there's a lot of great people here who go out of their way to help.
