Tonight I found the Big Dipper hanging over our wee house. It was a very blustery day in northern California and raining, sunny, windy and freezing with some blue, blue skies. A good day to be wearing several layers outside at work. Finding The Big Dipper gives me hope for a better perspective on all that troubles me. May you all have a great "hump" day tomorrow!:smilewave
Hey welcome to EC! I always tried to look at the sky and see what i could identify like stars but there's so many lights since i live in the city :/
Two of the stars that form the "square" part of the Big Dipper, the ones opposite the "handle", when lined up, will point you to the North Star which has the singular distinction of not moving in the sky as the earth turns. All the stars appear to revolve around the North Star (as seen in those time-lapse night-sky photographs). Every one of us has a North Star, but most seldom just look up to find it. Welcome to EC!
I hope your troubles fade into the bluster of the day and fly away. This would be a good thing love. Hugs
I live on the edge of a city but up at a slightly higher elevation than the rest of the city - which means I can sometimes see the stars! Granted its not nearly as brilliant of a show as it is when you are out in the country, but still FYI : When I saw this thread my brain read it as "Finding the Big Diaper". LOL
