Hi everyone, I've come across this site a few times and figured it was time to register. A little bit about myself: I'm 27 years old and have known since I was around 17 that I am not straight (I had been curious since about 13 years old but didn't really understand what I meant). So I've spent about 10 years knowing that I'm not straight, but not knowing what I am until fairly recently. I've never fit into one gender role (though I am biologically female and have no desire to change by body) and have had attractions to people of all gender identities (I identify as either androgyne or genderqueer). I recently came out to my immediate family as pansexual and as I expected they would be, they've been nothing but loving and supportive (it seems I was the last person in the family to know!) I'm pretty open about who I am, but don't usually actively volunteer information about myself as I'm quite introverted (I'm hoping to change that with some of my classmates though and be more open with them). Other than that, I'm just a pretty big nerd. I'm studying in the science field so I can get into research eventually, love video games (still hooked on Skyrim) and I paint and draw portraits in my spare time. So that's me. Looking forward to getting to know you guys
Hello and welcome Science and video games, I live for those haha. What areas of science are you most interested in?
Thanks for the warm welcome AquaRegia: I'm most interested in molecular biology and microbiology (currently studying biotechnology). You?
Oh that's very cool! One of my professors had a sign that said "Microbiologists are cultured" get it? haha. I am majoring in chemical engineering atm
Hi, Labrat! I love science too. I'm hoping to get a degree in particle physics, but that's many years down the road. Anyway, welcome to EC!
Haha, cute My prof has a shelf in their office that is completely covered in plush microbes Very cool about the chemical engineering Filet Mignon: Oooh particle physics? That is intense lol. Physics can be a lot of fun but wow, it can be intimidating too, good for you It's so nice to meet other non-straight science nerds
