Hi Everyone! I am JennyLynn, and stumbled upon this forum while doing a google search. I have been looking for an online place where I could meet new people and make new friends, and this seemed like a good place. I am 29 years old, soon to be 30 in a few more months, and I just came out as Bisexual to everyone I know at the start of this year (2013). I can't even begin to describe the weight that was lifted off of me when I came out, because even though I was telling my friends and family, it was more about me finally accepting myself for who I really am and who I have always been, but was to afraid to let out. It hasn't been easy and I didn't expect it to be. Most all my friends were awesome, but my family on the other hand was a different story. Most of them turned the other way and ran so to speak. I have had a few family members slowly start to come back to me and talk and I am okay with it. I am strong and know that in the end things will work out the way they are supposed to. (Let's just say the Family Reunion this year is going to be something else!) I can't wait to meet everyone here and hope some great online friendships come out of this!
Welcome to EC! Wait until you bring your significant other with you to your family reunion (will be "fun")
Hello, and welcome to EC! I see you're from West Virginia, which is known as a southern state. Are people there not as accepting? I know how that feels, especially since I live in the bottom of the bucket known as Alabama, lol. Southern states are also known as the Bible Belt, ha.
Thanks Everyone! As far as people here in West Virginia being accepting, it tends to be more of the older generation I find that are not accepting. Most of those in my generation and younger are much more accepting.
