    Hey everyone.
I'm a newbie and thought I'd just say hi basically.
I've literally just today accepted that I am infact a lesbian and I'm glad i've found this site to hopefully make this journey to what I believe will be eventual "coming out" easier ^_^

I'm pretty confused as to what to do next. Like, I'm scared to tell anyone. I'm at university, so I'm away from home. I was thinking of attending my uni's LGBTQ society, do you think that's a good start? I'm just assuming noone within the society would want to out me!!

Any advice about anything you feel is relevant to me is more than welcome ofcourse! :icon_bigg

Hope you're all having lovely days wherever you may be (!)

If you're concerned about your school's society outing you, you could always send them an e-mail or something beforehand asking what their policy on that is. I know at my university, we hold a policy where you can't even ask someone's name inside the center nor do the coordinators acknowledge people outside the center (for anonymity). Of course, if you know each other and are comfortable with it, we're allowed to approach them - they just don't want to breach our confidentiality.

    Regardless, welcome to EC!

Welcome! Welcome! I'm Krow, or you can call me Raven :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: I'm glad you've accepted yourself  LGBTQ societies can be a great way to make friends and find support. I would join my university's LGBT club... if I didn't know some of the people there were unbearable. But I'm sure that's not the case in most place. I got to a small college, I think there are only maybe... 8 members. But everyone else tells me how wonderful an experience it is to be in a community like that!

Well anyways, here you are already accepted and I'd be happy to chat with you anytime you feel you need someone to talk to.

I was so nervous. I was just stood outside the cafe panicking and just though ah eff it just do it! So i did, and there were only 3 guys there but just making that step made me so happy. They were so welcoming.

    :grin:DD
