But you probably guessed that. I am bisexual, but very few people know. I am very shy about correcting people when they assume I am straight so I normally dont. But I would like to change that. It is wonderful to be here, and I hope to get a chance to talk to all of you. Hopefully you all can help me not be so shy.

Hey! Aside from gender, you and I are pretty similar, especially in being out to "a few people" lol. If somebody were to plainly ask me what my orientation is (no assumptions beforehand) I'd probably tell the truth. But if they expect me to be straight already, I always play along, not wanting to deal with potential fallout. It doesn't bother me too much, but I do wish people could see the real me sometimes.

Welcome to EC. It's a unique beast, but a very nice site.

Its nice to meet you! I tried to come out to my mother once. I told her I was bi (at the time I even had a girlfriend) - she laughed and said "no, you're not." Like she knew the facts, and I was wrong. It was like I had said the sky is pink. After that, I just I just let people assume whatever they wanted. Though I have always told the truth when asked.

I am very glad to be here. And I totally understand the not wanting to deal with potential fallout. I always wonder that if I tell someone they will just assume that I am hitting on them.

Hello there  Welcome to EC

Like you I'm a newbie myself and a bit shy as well  but they say in order to get rid off shyness talk to strangers so we should start doing that by starting to get to know each other then. My name is Jesse by the way

    Hey! Welcome to EC.

I know how you feel about being shy about correcting the assumptions of people about your orientation. My problem is mostly my family. Also, living in the South doesn't make it any easier, lol. I'm afraid people will think of me differently if I'm honest. :/
