Hi guys, I've been hanging (lurking) around for a couple months now, and figure its about time I introduce myself to everyone. I'm 20 years old, Lesbian, just recently accepted my sexuality. I'm out to a few people; my best friends, a few LGBT friends and a couple close family members. From Ireland. The younger generation here are pretty open, if a little ignorant, but the older generation of devout Catholics are still a terrible inhibitor of progress here. I've posted a couple times, mostly anonymously. I was resistant to posting or commenting mostly out of fear of drawing attention to myself (yep, even got anxiety on the internet!) but I thought it was time I started really engaging with the site! I'm glad you introduced yourself. I was scared my parents might find this site and give me hell for it. At the end I was like "why would my parents be on a LGBT site anyways" LOL ---------- Post added 16th May 2013 at 07:13 PM ---------- and welcome to EC.
Glad you decided to introduce yourself...that's the first step in actually coming out...I think you should be comfortable with yourself first and understand that everyone is not understanding of our sexuality and that is ok because 9 times out 10 we don't understand why they do most of the things they do lol!! :lol::lol::smilewave:smilewave
