I'm 16, bisexual, and just joined because the most stressful part of my day is getting dressed. I've always worn very feminine clothing, and I have hair long enough to sit on. School makes me anxious b/c I'm sure I look awful. I fidget and pull at the hems of my shirts, trying to make them cover more of my butt, only to pull the neckline up, trying to hide my cleavage. This summer I plan to cut my hair, start wearing guy's clothes, shoes, etc., buy binders, drop the constant girly act. I'm definitely a girl- I just. I don't know. Hoping it will cut down on the constant, awkward process of coming out, as well. I'm looking forward to being active here
Welcome! If you're thinking about going for short hair, then you'll probably like it. I had it for a while before I started missing longer hair, but while it lasted it was so easy to take care of..
Hey! Welcome! I completely get what you mean about getting dressed in the morning. I have the same sort of problems - so I just don't deal with clothes like that. Look for stuff that's simple, casual, but not sloppy or grungy. I've found yoga pants and non-fitted jeans with Converse a HUGE improvement. If you want to know a little trick my sister taught me, buy cool, crew-neck t-shirts out of the men's section in your size, then carefully cut the collar off at the seam. It works if you do it right - trust me, Welcome again, -Arli
Welcome!!!! I understand completely about the clothes thing but for me it's only on weekends and after school 'cause of the stupid uniform policy they put in our public school system. Short hair is great. I'm actually about to get mine chopped too. I miss the not needing to do anything with it sooooo much. :welcome:
Hi Antje, Welcome to EC. Glad to hear you're taking the summer as an opportunity to dress in a way that makes you feel more comfortable and more yourself. I flip-flop on my dress a lot--sometimes very feminine, sometimes not. Depends on the day and how I'm feeling. Girls can be all sorts of things, and they don't have to be the same thing from day to day. Glad you're here on EC. --Zoe
