You can record your voice here: ####### | Online voice recorder
I know we have done this before, but there are most likely a bunch of new people at this point... so I thought it would be neat to do it again. : 3

Here on EC we come from all over the world and every place has different accents!
If you feel comfortable doing this you just have to say your name and/or username plus your location. For the location you can be as specific or unspecific as you like. For example: city (or nearest major city), region, province/state, country). You can also say if you like you voice if you want.

Here is my voice: ####### | Voice message

Your voice is cool, Data. Don't worry about it! Mine might go up a little if excited about something as well. Funny about "no accent whatsoever," but I know what you mean. You are in fact accent-less. I've always tried to identify how big the portion of America that has the "standard lack of accent" is. It's quite a few states, actually.

I might do this. The last time it didn't work.

Thanks! I don't know how many states lack a trademark accent, but there are a few out there. When Mike Rowe talked about narrating shows, he mentioned that they put people through speech therapy for sterilizing their accents. I do like narrators to either be sterile or British, so I guess they are on the right track.

I spent about 5 minutes fiddling with the recorder. I looked on the help page and tried a few things that patched me up and I was able to record. Not too bad, but I did have to fuss with it.

I guess I should add, I like to sing along to Rammstein when I shave or take a shower. So I can get my voice pretty deep (not QUITE as deep as Till's but almost) I just don't talk like that in day-to-day speech. I wish I could. :icon_bigg

Hey I tried it. Don't know if it worked or not. I hate recording my voice. I think it sounds higher then my actual voice. But I wanted to give it a try. I don't believe I have an accent, but some say I do. So you can determine that

It's not that you have an accent, you just say those things that you mentioned in a different way. I have talked to MANY people who say Mon-dey instead of Mon-day.

Out here, people tend to say "Ruff" instead of "Roof". They say route as if they were talking about a wireless router, the middle is sounds like if you fell and hurt yourself you'd say Ow like OUCH! They say "trash" instead of "garbage" (now that is one I do say kinda funny. GAHbage) They also say "cart" instead of "carriage" when you're doing a food shopping. The biggest one is "cement" where people say it like SEA-MENT. I looked at somebody once and said "Did you just say "semen" or am I nuts?"

It took me forever to wait out the coyotes howling outside my window, but I finally got a decent recording.

Well actually everyone has an accent :stuck_out_tongue_closed_eyes: an accent is just the way people emphasize words

Wow. O.O I never knew this was a thing. I can't do it on my phone, and I'll be at home at 9:20 tonight... So I don't really know when I'm going to do this. I'm going to try out my British accent, because you're not British unless you've tried it.
