OK, first, obviously I can't spell my own profile name, DOH! I live in Australia, gay man, bout to turn 46 in a few weeks. I don't have many friends, still got fingers on the one hand if tried counting, & even then, are seperated by distance. I have HIV, had it for 23 years now, god, what a journey that's been too! My last relationship of 5 years ended a year ago. I'm not stressed bout not having someone in my life, but where do you go to meet people, if you're not into the scene, & don't know wgat it's like where you live, but the drug ice is a HUGE problem here I also work long hours, so that's another barrier Guess i'm really needing to use this site as a way of being able to talk to others, something i lack in the real world
Hello, I am 59, in the USA, gay and lonely. HIV neg, ddf. I would like to have some gay mature friends. I find it hard here and I guess that same is true everywhere to meet. UNless you are into the gay bar cruising ( I am not )
Hello gayaussie(I take it that this is the username you wanted to have?) and kindmaturealone, welcome to EC! There's a category in this forum called LGBT Later in Life where you can discuss and ask support for LGBT people who are older but I think we can talk about it here in this thread. Have you considered going to a gay support group near your area?
Hey, and welcome to EC! I'm a 21 year old gay guy from Canada, ad I've only recently come out to myself. I too am lonely. It sure sucks!
Hi gayaussie, This is quite a coincidence. One of your fellow Melbournites (is that the right term? Melbourner maybe?) posted today about venturing out to one of your local gay establishments for the first time and having a great time. He's also in his mid 40s. See here... http://emptyclosets.com/forum/lgbt-later-life/146178-finally-went-gay-venue.html
Hello and welcome to EC! As indicated by a previous poster, you should check out LGBT Later in Life. I'm sure you'll find help and support there. Lots of love, Andy
